IP employs a series of practices to reuse materials and use waste so as to extend the life cycle of the original materials.

Below is a list of management solutions to achieve these aims:

• Reuse of materials in the construction site itself and/or other IP construction work;
• Reuse of soil and rock in the construction site itself and/or other construction work;
• Use of waste in the construction site itself or other construction work in compliance with regulations;
• Channeling of waste produced in IP construction work for reuse;
• Forwarding of natural materials – resulting from deforestation actions and work to cut back and prune trees – to be reused or used in agriculture, forestry or energy production;
• Use of materials during construction work which are recycled or which incorporate recycled materials.
