Redondo and Évora
Scope of Work
The modernization of the stretch on the Évora line between Évora North and Freixo includes the following work:

Construction of a new railway line of 20.5 km in length

Construction of a technical station

Construction of 13 standard special structures (8 elevated walkways; 3 underground walkways and 2 agricultural crossings)

Construction of 6 special structures (railway bridges):

Bridge over the Freixo Stream, 284 m in length;

Machede bridge, 119 m in length;

Bicas bridge, 220 m in length;
-
Paridela bridge, 358 m in length;
-
Palheta bridge, 575 m in length;
-
Freixo bridge, 180 m in length.

The new rail line and special structures will be prepared for a future double track.

this stretch will provide for goods trains up to 750 m in length on a single electrified track (25 kV-50 Hz) on a double track bed, ballasted with UIC60 track and multi-purpose concrete sleepers, thus being prepared to receive the future European gauge.
