A extensão do troço de Santarém - Entroncamento da Linha do Norte, do Pk 64+300 ao Pk 107+400 (43 km).

Scope of Work

The modernization on the stretch of the Northern line between Vale de Santarém and Entroncamento, includes the following work:

  • Electrification of the Main Branch Line (LMR) and accesses to the Vale do Tejo Terminal (TVT), on the downward side of the Northern line, between the Entroncamento traction substation (SST) and Riachos Station;

  • Modernisation of the Entroncamento reception/dispatch selection bundle;

  • Modernization work at Mato Miranda, construction of the new Neutral Zone and the new Main Branch Line (LMR), on the upward side of the Northern line, between Riachos and Entroncamento;

  • Implementation of an electronic signaling system and its integration into the Lisbon Operational Command Centre (CCO), traction return current system, soil and protection (RCT+TP), automatic speed control system and telecommunications systems between Vale de Santarém and Entroncamento.

Benefits

The modernization of this stretch will allow 750m trains to be formed and dispatched at the Entroncamento logistics complex, improving all movement on the stretch while also creating passing/overtaking areas at the Entroncamento access point.
