Equality

Gender equality means equal rights and opportunities, equal visibility, valuation, power and participation for men and women in all spheres of public and private life. This is a matter of citizenship and human rights.

In recent years, there has been an increasing number of European and national policies concerning gender equality, leading to a clear improvement in the participation of women in the labor market and a new assessment of the conditions that enable and facilitate combining professional activities with family and personal life.

These policies are largely the result of implementing national plans for equality, which are part of the European Employment Strategy, among other European Commission initiatives aiming to overcome inequalities identified in relation to the participation of men and women in different social aspects, particularly employment.

IGEN Forum

IP joined the Companies for Gender Equality (IGEN) Forum in 2014.

This Forum brings together companies that, in light of competitiveness challenges, seek to have a collective social responsibility culture, incorporating the principles of gender equality in their management strategies, with a clear commitment to promoting professional equality and combating all forms of gender discrimination in relation to work and employment.
